Sandblasting is a very temperamental art which contrary to popular belief does require a high amount of skill and technique to be done properly. There should be a consistent grey colour and a specific profile build achieved which should be measured to assure that Australian standard is upheld as a minimum.

What is Sandblasting?
Sandblasting is an anti-corrosion technique used to clean surfaces with a refined natural garnet grain. Traditionally sand was the most commonly used material, however it has since been replaced with safer materials such as garnet, mentioned above.
Universal Coatings use only the highest grade of garnet to achieve the best quality blast results for our customers. Known for its natural hardness, durability and abrasive characteristics, GMA GarnetTM abrasives are composed of natural Almandite garnet grains that meet all Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
As a cleaning method, sandblasting is used for preparing surfaces for the application of paint or sealant. By launching small bits of abrasive at the surface at a high speed, all imperfections are removed and any dust or dirt is blown off, giving an incredibly smooth surface on which to paint the new layer.
We dry blast metal work to remove rust and paint that will give the surface a clean white metal finish. Sand blasting helps to remove unwanted, dated and faded old surface paint and will leave an incredible surface finish, ready for painting or powder coating.
